Here at Edge of Ember HQ, we’ve been in a glorious, sunset-yellow daze for the past 6 months as we prepared our new collection, Sirena.
Inspired by the dream of an eternal summer, Sirena features freshwater pearls, hand-cast shells and celestial shapes, conjuring memories of sun-drenched days and balmy evenings spent on the ocean front. It’s been fun.
The 10-piece collection - quite possibly our favourite to date - in 18k gold vermeil, marks our first foray into cultured freshwater pearls. We daren’t attempt oceanic vibes without them.
The collection was born (so casually) on a Formentera beach, as our founder Lynette spent the year travelling back and forth to the Mediterranean. Like many before her, the blend of larger-than-life island glamour, charming coastal villages, and laid back beaches was all the inspiration she needed. Sirena is an ode to it all, something to wear to the beach, for a long paella lunch, or out to a fancy dinner.
Some of our favourite pieces include the Cove Pearl Necklace, showcasing the organic, irregular shapes of baroque pearls, the Constellation Ear Climbers, casting delicate starry patterns on the ear, and the minimalist heart of the collection – the rippling Wave Necklace.
Most important to us at EoE, was that the collection be made by our partner organisation in Jaipur, India, employing crafts-men and women from underprivileged communities. The workforce we are so proud to call our own is fairly paid, and provided medical and life insurance, helping them improve everyday living standards and quality of life for themselves and their families.
As with all our jewellery, Sirena is designed to be layered and stacked with other pieces from our Core collection, whilst the new shell and pearl charms join our gold vermeil initials, trillion cut gem birthstones and engravable elements, in an ever-growing selection of customisable and personalised options.
