You've probably noticed that we're huge proponents of layered necklaces at Edge of Ember HQ.

Most of our necklaces are designed to be mixed, matched and layered together in one harmonious necklace orgy and some of our necklaces even come in multiple chain lengths for you to choose exactly how to structure said orgy. 

But it's come to our attention that this makes it a little harder for you to know exactly which length of necklace to choose when purchasing. So heres goes the internet's most comprehensive guide to necklace sizing :) 

Our necklaces come in 16", 17", 18", 19", 20" and 21" as standard, however most include a 2" link chain at the back (shown below) which means you have an extra 2" to play around with. All of our products will indicate for instance '16" with a 2" extension', so you know you can wear it anywhere between 16" to 18" in length.

 

 

Remember these measurements DON'T include any charm/pearl/initial that you add to the chain. Those will be given as a separate measurement - like our Star Disc Charm that measures 17mm or our Initial Charms that measure around 15mm. 

 

Below we've shown examples of our three main necklace sizes.

 

The first is our shortest, the 16" which sits high at the clavicle but not as high as a choker. Our Nameplate Necklace on the left and Gold Snake Chain on the right are both 16" (and for comparison, our model on the right is wearing the longer Serene Charm Necklace at 20") The 16" makes a great base for your layering. 

 

 

 

 

Now onto 19" which is really our midway necklace - not too long, not too short. Below, you can see the effect of wearing a 19" necklace on a slightly looser link. Our model on the left is wearing the Solar Charm Necklace at 19." You can probably tell that the model on the right is wearing her Hunter Charm Necklace on a looser link, making hers 20."

 

 

 

And finally, our longest necklace, the 21", works perfectly with a deep v neckline. In both pictures below, our models are wearing the Initials Necklace at 21". For comparison, our model on the right has paired her 21" Initial 'A' necklace with a 17" Initial 'J' necklace.
