Behind the scenes with Lynette & Rose
This International Women's Day, we are celebrating individuality in real women with our exciting new partnership with the ever-so-cool London illustrator Rose England.
Collaborating on a series of three illustrations, which have been transformed into engravings for our new EveryWoman Necklace. We catch up with Edge of Ember founder, Lynette and Rose England to find out what inspired their collaboration.
What brought you together?
Lynette: I've been following Rose's Instagram page for a while and have always been a huge fan of her work. We approached her last year
Rose: I’ve always admired Edge of Ember’s beautiful jewellery so when they asked to collaborate it was a no brainer. I love working with brands that support women and the EveryWoman project does just that.
What is the EveryWoman collaboration about?
Lynette: Women empowerment, wanted a collection that showed how women are beautiful in all forms. Each piece is named
Rose: One of my passions is to ensure that all women feel represented and empowered by my work so I’ve created three illustrations celebrating the diversity of women. These engraved necklaces will hopefully act as a reminder to all those who wear them that all women are beautiful, no matter what ethnicity shape or size.
Tell us more about the necklace and prints.
Lynette: This special piece is a bevel-edged oval pendant with black enamel that really brings out the delicate engraving.
Rose: All three prints feature women within nature. I wanted the women in the prints to feel free, and I have always found freedom in nature. I felt by adding these natural elements and pairing them with earthy tones I could create a set of images that were both powerful and serene at the same time.
How would you wear the EveryWoman necklace?
Lynette: I personally love longer pendant necklaces, and would layer it with a simple chain like the Snake chain necklace or the Everyday chunky gold necklace. The black enamel around the charm makes the pendant and engraving really pop, and my favourite outfits to pair this with would be a chunky knit, plain white tee or button down shirt.
Rose: Personally I’d wear the necklace with anything because I think it is just fabulous!
